Tim Hortons Ingredients 2026 – What’s Actually In Your Coffee, Donuts & Sandwiches

Looking for Tim Hortons’ ingredient lists? Here’s the thing nobody tells you: Tim Hortons does not publish full ingredient lists publicly. Nutrition and allergens, yes — ingredients, no. Every third-party “ingredients” page you’ve seen is republished data, not official. This page tells you where the official answers actually live, plus the notable facts we can verify.

Where official ingredients actually live

Per Tim Hortons’ own Help Centre (official): nutrition and allergens are in the app (Account → “Nutrition and Allergens”) and on timhortons.ca (More → “Nutrition and Allergens”). But for ingredients, you must contact the Guest Care Team — select “General inquiry” → “Nutrition/Ingredients” and request the list for your item. That’s the official path. There is no public ingredients page.

What does exist officially: the Tim Hortons Allergen Guide (May 2026) on Tims’ own CDN — a contains/may-contain grid per menu item for Canadian restaurants. It won’t give you full recipes, but it’s the official document for “does it contain X.” Our allergens page builds on the same data.

The Ingredient Finder — the 2-click plus 1-email method: Step 1 app or timhortons.ca go to Nutrition and Allergens; Step 2 contact the Guest Care Team, General inquiry then Nutrition/Ingredients, request the item's list; Step 3 allergen questions check the official Allergen Guide May 2026. Tims publishes nutrition and allergens, not full ingredient lists.
The Ingredient Finder: Tims publishes nutrition and allergens — full ingredient lists need the Guest Care path.

What we can verify: the notable callouts

  • Coffee = 100% Arabica. Official: “all our coffee is made from 100% Premium Arabica beans.” An outside partner evaluates 100% of purchases annually. The exact origin blend is a trade secret.
  • No lard. Donuts are fried in plant-based shortening — palm oil, modified palm oil, canola/soybean oil. The old “Tims fries in lard” claim is outdated (consistent with our halal post).
  • Eggs: freshly cracked since 2021 (Canadian farms, Egg Quality Assurance) — sandwich and wrap eggs. The honest nuance: scrambled builds use a liquid egg preparation, not shells cracked to order. Standard for chain volume.
  • Glaze is simple: sugar, water, guar gum, modified potato starch, potassium sorbate, citric acid, agar, xanthan gum.
  • Sugar-free vanilla syrup: water, glycerin, natural flavours, cellulose gum, phosphoric acid, sucralose, citric acid, salt (from our keto post).
  • Nothing baked is vegan — every donut, Timbit, cookie, and muffin contains egg, dairy, or both. (The Apple Fritter notably has no egg — but has milk, soy, and sulphites.)

What Tims doesn’t publish

  • Full public ingredient lists per menu item (Guest Care only).
  • Exact supplier formulations and proprietary blend origins.
  • Test, limited-time, and regional items — which may be missing even from the allergen guide.

The 2-click + 1-email method

  • Step 1: App or timhortons.ca → Nutrition and Allergens — nutrition + contains/may-contain per item.
  • Step 2: Need the full ingredient list? help.timhortons.ca → General inquiry → Nutrition/Ingredients → request it. Guest Care replies.
  • Step 3: Allergen-specific questions → our allergens page, built from the official guide.
