Tim Hortons Drive-Thru Menu Board 2026 – What’s On It & How It Works

Pulling up to the drive-thru and wondering why half the menu isn’t on the board? Short answer: the board isn’t the menu. It’s a curated, software-driven subset — and understanding how it works makes you a faster orderer. Here’s what’s on it, what isn’t, and why.

The board is software, not print

This is the part nobody tells you. In October 2020, Restaurant Brands International announced digital drive-thru boards for 10,000+ Burger King and Tim Hortons locations (official). STRATACACHE won the rollout — 40,000+ outdoor-rated 46-inch screens, four per lane. Samsung Canada followed with 2,600 outdoor displays across Canada targeted by end of 2021 (official). These boards run “predictive selling” — content that can change by time of day, weather, and order history — with loyalty integration at the order point. The board you’re reading is a computer deciding what to show you. No menu site covers any of this.

What’s on the board, by daypart

The coffee core is constant — Original, Dark, Decaf, Iced Capp are the anchor panels. It’s the food panels that swap:

DaypartOn the board
Morning (5–11 AM)Breakfast sandwiches, Farmer’s Wraps, bagels, muffins, hash browns, breakfast bundles
Midday (11 AM–5 PM)Iced Capp, cold brew, iced lattes, donuts, Timbits, wraps, artisan sandwiches
Evening (5 PM–close)Flatbread pizzas, steak/turkey sandwiches, loaded bowls, soup & chili, family bundles

Proof the board ≠ the full menu: in 2021, Tim Hortons opened drive-thru-only stores in the US with a deliberately simplified menu — a subset by design. Canada doesn’t have these stores, but the principle holds everywhere: the board shows what the lane can sell fast, not everything the kitchen can make.

Reading the board — what's on the Tim Hortons drive-thru menu by daypart: morning 5-11am breakfast sandwiches, Farmer's Wraps, bagels, hash browns; midday 11am-5pm Iced Capp, cold brew, donuts, Timbits, wraps; evening 5pm-close flatbread pizzas, soups, chili, family bundles. The board is a subset — the full menu is on the app.
Reading the board: the coffee core never changes — it’s the food panels that swap by daypart.

The breakfast-hours mess, honestly

Sources say breakfast ends at 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, or noon — pick your favourite. Our breakfast page already audited 7 conflicting times. The most consistent position: breakfast runs all day at most Canadian restaurants, and the lunch menu is added around 10:30 AM rather than replacing it. The board flips to the lunch layout, but the kitchen usually still has your sandwich. Franchisee variation applies — when in doubt, ask, not the internet.

Why isn’t X on the board?

  • Nutrition and allergens aren’t on the board — they’re on timhortons.ca and on this site’s own pages.
  • Secret-menu items aren’t on the board either. Order them by components (“nine by nine” works; TikTok names don’t — see our secret menu post).
  • Combos — Canada has no official combo/value menu (one menu site audited all 361 items). Combos are self-built: coffee + donut. Loaded Boxes are the closest thing to a breakfast combo.
  • Prices are the same as in-store — franchisee-set, shown before tax.

Read the board in 30 seconds

  • Combos center, LTOs on the flanks. Permanent core in the middle; new limited-time items get the side panels. Can’t find something? It’s probably an LTO panel, not gone.
  • Order food before drinks. Food starts being made the instant you order; a Double Double ordered first sits getting cold. Espresso drinks go with the food order (beans grind, milk steams).
  • Big order? Go inside. Faster for you, kinder to the line behind you.
  • The app beats the board for customization and points.
