Tim Hortons Camp Day & Charity Promos 2026 – Dates, Offers & Money Raised
Tim Hortons runs some of the biggest restaurant charity campaigns in Canada — Camp Day, Smile Cookie, the Orange Sprinkle Donut — and the internet’s coverage of them is a mess of wrong dates and missing numbers. This page is the 2026 hub: what each campaign is, when it ran, what it raised, and where the money goes. All figures tagged with their source honesty level, as always.
Camp Day 2026: the essentials
Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2026 (official). The offer: 100% of the purchase price from every hot coffee and iced coffee sold donated to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. Two things most coverage skips: the coffee costs the same as any other day — there is no markup; the restaurant owners donate the normal purchase price. And it runs in both Canada and the US.
The add-ons, with their donation splits (because “proceeds donated” hides details): the Camp Day bracelet ($3 — about $2.01 per bracelet donated), the Donation Badge ($2, 100%), and the Camp Day/Campfire Donut ($2, 100%). Workplaces could pre-order Take 12 boxes, guests could round up their order total, and the coloured Camp Day cups in the lead-up were the awareness play.

Camp Day, year over year
Nobody had put this in one table, so we did:
| Year | Date | Raised |
| 2023 | July 19 | ~$12.7M |
| 2024 | July 17 | ~$12.8M |
| 2025 | July 16 | $13M+ |
| 2026 | July 15 | $12.7M |
The honest read: 2026 ($12.7M) came in slightly below 2025’s record ($13M+). Still an enormous single-day haul — and the all-time total since 1991 stands at over $275 million, serving nearly 350,000 youth. A dip year doesn’t change the scale of it, but we’ll print the dip rather than pretend every year is a record.
Where the money goes
Tim Hortons Foundation Camps serves underserved youth ages 12–16 through a multi-year program building confidence, resiliency, leadership, and life skills — 7 Tims Camps, at no cost to youth or families. (The Tims Classrooms Program, launched 2024, extends the leadership curriculum into schools.) The origin story is the best part: the first Camp Day was 1987, when 58 restaurant owners in Atlantic Canada donated 24 hours of sales to build the Tim Horton Children’s Camp in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. It went national in 1991. A fundraiser invented by franchisees, not head office.
Smile Cookie 2026: a record $23.3M
April 27 – May 3, 2026 — the 30th anniversary of the Smile Cookie (born 1996 in Hamilton for the children’s hospital). The cookie: Chocolate Chunk at $2, pink-and-blue icing smile, 100% of proceeds to local charities — roughly 700 charities and community groups, each chosen by the individual restaurant owner. The 2026 total: a record $23.3 million, beating 2025’s $22.6M. All-time: over $151M. New in 2026: a 4-in-1 Smile Cookie plush (net proceeds to local charities). The local numbers are the charm — one Ontario town raised $14,134 (7,067 cookies) toward an MRI machine; another raised $11,275 for an animal shelter.
Orange Sprinkle Donut 2026: $979,000
September 30, 2026 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) — the 6th annual. $979,000 raised (official), with 100% of proceeds split across five Indigenous organizations: the Orange Shirt Society, the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, Ulnooweg Education Centre, and Quebec’s New Pathways Foundation. Total since 2021: over $6.2M. The origin matters here too: the donut was first developed in 2021 by Indigenous Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Kamloops, BC — grassroots, like Camp Day.

The 60th anniversary (2024, brief)
History, not news — but readers ask. For the 60th (first restaurant: Hamilton, 1964), Tims brought back four retro donuts on January 10, 2024 — Dutchie, Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Sugar Twist, Walnut Crunch — with a June encore adding Blueberry Sour Cream and Sugar Twist. January also had free Monday coffees for Rewards members. Fun stat: the Walnut Crunch was the most popular retro donut nationally; Atlantic Canada bought ~3x more Walnut Crunch than Dutchie.
Dates other sites get wrong
Since wrong dates are the reason this page exists: one FAQ site says Camp Day 2026 was July 13 — it was July 15. Another says Camp Day 2024 was July 19 — it was July 17. Camp Day falls on the third Wednesday of July; check the year’s calendar, not a stale FAQ.
