Tim Hortons Breakfast Menu — Prices, Calories and Serving Times

Every hot breakfast sandwich at Tim Hortons is built on a bread you choose: English muffin, homestyle biscuit, croissant or any bagel. That choice moves the calories more than the bacon does. An English muffin build is the lightest at every filling, a biscuit adds roughly 65 calories, a bagel adds 120, and a croissant adds about 135. Breakfast has no national end time — the chain has served breakfast items at any hour at participating restaurants since 25 July 2018.

Tim Hortons Breakfast Menu — Prices, Calories and Serving Times

The bread is the biggest decision on the board

Tim Hortons publishes nutrition by build, not by sandwich name. Line the same three fillings up across all four breads and the pattern is hard to miss.

Now read it sideways instead of down.

Swap from English muffinEgg & CheeseBaconSausage
To a biscuit+70+70+60
To a bagel+120+120+120
To a croissant+140+140+130

The bread charge is the same whichever filling you pick. A bagel costs 120 calories over an English muffin on all three builds — not approximately, exactly. Biscuit runs about 65, croissant about 135.

That makes the bread an independent decision you can carry to the counter without a lookup table. Adding bacon to an egg and cheese costs 60 calories. Moving that same sandwich from an English muffin to a croissant costs 140. The topping everyone deliberates over is the smaller of the two.

Where the croissant really lands is fat

Calories understate it. An Egg & Cheese on an English muffin carries 11 g of fat. The identical filling on a croissant carries 24 g. The bread more than doubles the fat before anything else changes.

The same swap on a sausage build takes 26 g to 40 g.

The bagel pays you back in protein

A bagel adds 120 calories and roughly 4 to 5 g of protein at every filling — Egg & Cheese goes from 13 g to 18 g, sausage from 18 g to 23 g. If you are eating before a shift rather than before a desk, that trade reads differently than the calorie number alone suggests.

Croissant adds the calories without the protein. On that measure it is the weakest swap on the menu.

One number in this data we do not trust

Published figures put the Egg & Cheese biscuit at 18 g protein against 13 g on an English muffin. A biscuit adding 5 g of protein over an English muffin is not plausible, and the bagel and croissant rows do not behave that way. We have left the biscuit protein figure out rather than repeat it. The calorie column for that row tracks the other breads cleanly and is published as-is.

What actually changes the number

Three decisions, in the order they matter.

  • Bread — a 140-calorie spread within a single filling. Egg & Cheese runs 270 on an English muffin and 410 on a croissant. That gap is wider than a hashbrown.
  • Filling — 170 calories from lightest to heaviest. Egg and cheese to sausage, egg and cheese, holding the bread constant.
  • Sides — a hashbrown adds 120. Most people treat this as the negotiable one. It is the smallest of the three.

The lightest full sandwich on the board is the Egg & Cheese on an English muffin at 270 calories. The heaviest standard build is Sausage, Egg & Cheese on a croissant at about 570. Same three choices, 300 calories apart, and the price barely moves between them.

Toasting is free. Bagel and croissant builds carry an upcharge at some restaurants — worth asking before you assume the swap is free.

When breakfast is actually served

Every site publishing a national breakfast cut-off is publishing a time that stopped being policy in 2018.

Tim Hortons launched Breakfast Anytime, Any Tims on 25 July 2018, announced the day before. The programme was piloted in several Ontario restaurants earlier that year and rolled out nationally after feedback from restaurant owners and guests. Ricardo Azevedo, then chief sales officer, framed it around serving guests at 6 am or 6 pm.

Two details in that announcement matter more than the headline.

The old cut-off was noon. The programme was described as making available items that had previously stopped at noon — the Classic Hot Breakfast Sandwich on biscuit or English muffin, hash browns, grilled breakfast wraps and Bagel B.E.L.T.s. Noon, not 10 am, and not since 2018. Every 10 am and 11 am figure in circulation predates that or was never accurate.

The word used was “participating.” Canadian restaurants are almost entirely franchised, and franchisees opt in. There is no national schedule to publish because head office does not set one.

That word is doing the work in both directions. The same franchise structure that makes a medium coffee cost different amounts in two towns is what makes breakfast end at different times in those towns. One mechanism, two questions answered.

Tim Hortons still runs Breakfast Anytime as live menu copy on its Canadian site, so the programme is current, not historical.

“All day” is itself defined locally

At restaurants that do participate, all day does not mean the same thing everywhere. Customers report locations where breakfast items stop at 4 pm while others run to close, on the same programme, under different owners.

So the honest answer to when breakfast ends at your restaurant is that only your restaurant knows. What can be described is the pattern by location type.

Location typeWhat usually happens
Standalone with drive-thruEarliest openings, commonly 5:00–6:00 am; most likely to run breakfast items late
24-hour and highwayBreakfast available across the widest window
Mall food courtBound to centre hours; often no early morning at all
Hospital, campus, airportOwn hours entirely, and frequently a reduced menu
Small-town and ruralMay not carry the full breakfast range at any hour

The drive-thru commonly opens before the dining room, which is why the posted store hours and the hour you can actually buy a sandwich are not always the same number.

Why every site gives you a different time

We checked what the competing menu sites currently publish as the Canadian breakfast window. Between them: 6 am to 10 am, 6 am to 11 am, 5 am to 11 am, 5 am to noon, until 10:59 am, all day at most locations, and a flat statement that all-day breakfast does not exist in 2026.

Seven answers, all presented as fact, several on pages updated this year. None of them can be right for your restaurant, because the number is not set nationally.

The app and the store locator show the live menu for whichever restaurant you select. That is the only source that answers the question you are actually asking.

Sodium is the number worth watching

Calories get the attention. Sodium is where the breakfast menu is genuinely heavy.

ItemSodium
Farmer’s Breakfast Sandwichabout 1,510 mg
Bagel B.E.L.T.about 1,180 mg
Sausage biscuit buildsaround 1,190 mg
Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwichabout 620 mg
Hashbrownabout 220 mg

Health Canada’s adequate intake for adults is 1,500 mg a day, with 2,300 mg as the upper limit.

A single Farmer’s Breakfast Sandwich meets the full day’s adequate intake before you have eaten anything else. Add a hashbrown and you are past it by mid-morning.

The Egg & Cheese is not only the lightest sandwich on the menu — it is under half the sodium of the Farmer’s. That gap is larger, proportionally, than the calorie gap between them.

Breakfast under 300 calories

Everything here is a complete item, not a modification.

ItemCalories
Hashbrown120
Oatmeal160–220
Omelette Bites210
Plain croissant260
Scrambled Egg Loaded Croissant263
Egg & Cheese on an English muffin270
Greek yogurt with berries and granola270
Spinach & Feta Savoury Egg Pastry280

The Egg & Cheese on an English muffin is the only hot sandwich that clears 300, and it manages 14 g of protein doing it. Nothing else on the sandwich board comes close on that trade.

Protein per dollar

Using typical Canadian price ranges, before tax.

ItemProteinTypical pricePer dollar
Farmer’s Breakfast Sandwich28 gabout $5.74about 4.9 g
Bagel B.E.L.T.22 gabout $5.54about 4.0 g
Protein Bagel B.E.L.T.22 g plusabout $5.49about 4.0 g
Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich14 gabout $4.24about 3.3 g

The Farmer’s leads on this measure and carries the menu’s heaviest sodium load doing it. Those two facts belong together, which is why they are rarely printed together.

The cheaper route: order any sandwich on a bagel. You gain 4 to 5 g of protein for 120 calories, and where the bagel carries no upcharge, for nothing.

Combo arithmetic

A breakfast sandwich, a hashbrown and a medium coffee bought separately:

ComponentTypical range
Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich$3.99–$4.49
Hashbrown$1.99–$2.19
Medium Original Blend$1.83–$2.09
Total$7.81–$8.77

The Classic Breakfast Bundle for two runs about $9.99 and pairs sandwiches with hashbrowns and drinks. At roughly $5.00 a head, it beats the à la carte total for one person, let alone two.

For a single person the cheapest hot breakfast on the menu is the Simply Sausage, frequently offered around $2.99 when paired with any size of coffee.

Two things that quietly change the total. Delivery apps list higher item prices than the same restaurant charges at the counter, before fees and tips. And every price above excludes tax, which runs from 5% in Alberta to 15% in the Atlantic provinces — though Ontario’s point-of-sale rebate drops HST to 5% on qualifying prepared food orders of $4.00 or less, which covers most coffee-and-sandwich runs.

If you are pairing by caffeine rather than by price, the caffeine figures by drink and size are set out separately.

Wraps work differently

The wrap line has no bread axis. A tortilla is a tortilla, so the build decisions that drive the sandwich numbers do not apply.

What does apply is that wrap calorie data is the least reliable on the entire breakfast menu. Published figures for the Farmer’s Breakfast Wrap and the Scrambled Egg Farmer’s Wrap vary between sources by several hundred calories, largely because portions and builds moved through 2025. A wrap listed at 182 calories on one page and 650 on another is the same product described from two different years of data.

We publish those as ranges rather than picking a number, and would check the official guide before relying on any single figure for a wrap.

The wrap that is stable: the Grilled Breakfast Wrap at around $4.79. It is the cheapest wrap and sits below the Farmer’s builds on both calories and sodium.

The egg and the muffin both changed recently

Two changes since early 2025 altered breakfast items without altering what the menu calls them.

Scrambled eggs switched to freshly cracked eggs in February 2025. The English muffin was rebuilt for a fluffier texture, announced 12 February 2026, reaching Western Canada first with national rollout targeted for the end of that quarter.

The muffin matters more than any new product launched in the same period, because it is the base of most breakfast sandwiches. Dates and scope for both are in the menu changes log.

Outside Canada

United States. No national all-day breakfast programme. Hot sandwiches are generally morning-only, while baked goods and coffee run all day. The US carries a 2 for $6 value menu that Canada does not, and both biscuit and English muffin are standard breads. Michigan is one of the densest US markets at 204 restaurants at the close of 2025, behind New York at 253 and ahead of Ohio at 132 — which is why Michigan breakfast searches are common and why Canadian prices will not help anyone making them.

United Kingdom. A different menu, not a translated one. Sandwiches are sold as Muffin Stacks, alongside a Bacon Roll, single and double omelettes, pancakes with syrup or spread, and Original, Big and Veggie Breakfast Wraps. Prices are in pounds with a separate meal price — a breakfast wrap around £4.19 on its own, near £6.69 as a meal. UK breakfast service commonly ends around 11:30 am across roughly 70 restaurants. No item on this page’s Canadian tables should be assumed available there.

Checking your own restaurant

Three things vary by restaurant and cannot be answered from any menu site, including this one: what time breakfast starts, whether breakfast items run past the morning, and what the sandwich costs.

The Tim Hortons app loads the live menu and current pricing for whichever restaurant you select, which settles all three in about thirty seconds. The store locator does the same for hours.

Nutrition does not vary. A 270-calorie Egg & Cheese on an English muffin is 270 calories in Halifax and 270 in Saskatoon.

How these figures were compiled

Calorie and macronutrient values are transcribed from published Canadian nutrition data, which Tim Hortons calculates using ESHA Genesis R&D software with supplier information and applies nationally. The four-bread matrix was assembled by cross-referencing the build-level figures for each bread and calculating the deltas, then checking those deltas for consistency across all three fillings. They held to within 10 calories.

Some of that source data carries older revision stamps, so the deltas are published as structural rather than exact. The pattern is reliable; the third digit is not. For any figure you are relying on, the official guide at timhortons.ca is the authority.

Prices are typical Canadian ranges before tax. Franchisees set their own, so a single figure would be wrong for most readers.

Serving times are not published here as a schedule, because no national schedule exists.

Frequently asked questions

Which bread has the fewest calories at Tim Hortons?

The English muffin, at every filling. A biscuit adds roughly 65 calories over it, a bagel 120, and a croissant about 135. The gap holds whether you order egg and cheese, bacon, or sausage.

How many calories does switching to a bagel add?

Exactly 120, across all three standard fillings. It also adds 4 to 5 g of protein, which makes it the better-value swap of the three.

What is the lowest-calorie breakfast sandwich at Tim Hortons?

The Egg & Cheese on an English muffin at 270 calories, with 14 g of protein and about 620 mg of sodium. It is the only hot breakfast sandwich under 300 calories.

What time does Tim Hortons stop serving breakfast?

There is no national cut-off. Breakfast items have been available at any hour at participating restaurants since 25 July 2018. Before that programme the national cut-off was noon, not 10 or 11 am. Check the app for your restaurant.

Does every Tim Hortons serve breakfast all day?

No. Restaurants opt in, and even among those that do, some stop breakfast items in the afternoon while others run to close. Mall, hospital, campus and airport locations follow their host building’s hours and often carry a reduced menu.

Which Tim Hortons breakfast has the most protein?

The Farmer’s Breakfast Sandwich at 28 g. It also carries the highest sodium on the breakfast menu at around 1,510 mg, which is a full day’s adequate intake in one sandwich.

Is the croissant worth the swap?

On the numbers, it is the weakest of the three. It adds about 135 calories and more than doubles the fat compared with an English muffin, without adding the protein a bagel does.

Is the Tim Hortons UK breakfast menu the same as Canada’s?

No. The UK sells Muffin Stacks, a Bacon Roll, omelettes and pancakes, with prices in pounds and a separate meal price. Several items have no Canadian equivalent, and Canadian prices and calories do not transfer.
